My friend and I were flooded out of our home on Sept 7,2011 and again on Sept.23,2011,we are now homeless. We have property in Arizonia and I have been trying to find a website to apply for grants to help us relocate. We have been living in a motel because we have no home to go back to, also this is our fifth flood on this property. There are websites about grants but I can't seem to locate one to actually apply. Can you help?
I am Permanently disabled on SSDI due to degenerative arthritis in both thumb/wrists. I have had 11 surgeries and many joints fused and bones removed. I wish to relocate to AZ from Minnesota because the cold climate causes chronic pain that I can no longer tolerate. I have lived in Tucson, AZ before and feel the dry climate would help very much. I would like to work again if I am able without pain. Please help me I dont know where to find the right grant to apply for relocation and even cannot write my own grant to apply. I need direction. dsparkhurst@charter.net
I am sorry to hear of your situation. have you applied for help at your local Human Services Agency? I don't know about where your at but I know here they seem to help people with relocating to places for work. Also you could try your local Community Action Agency and try dialling 211 from your home phone and see what they could offer. I wish the best for you and hope you can get some help to get on your. God Bless
There simply is none currently available. I am currently where you are at this very moment. Everything seems hopeful when you obtain leads for help, but once you arrive, the waiting lists are astronomical. I too am at my wits end.
in response to miss_hopeful...It is one thing for someone to say that they understand, but totally another thing when it is you that is suffering and in need of immediate financial assistance. I continuously get respnses such as, have you tried this solution, have you asked this organization. When you need help now, there is limited time to fill out paperwork and submit and then wait. Try living off of $872 per month, due to a disability, and out of that comes rent, medicaton, transportation cost, food, and utilities. No one is listening nor paying attention, where do you go and what do you do. That's my story, what's your answer? brasssas
I am wondering if anyone knows of any financial assistance for a mother of two trying to relocate. I recently found out I was accepted into UTI (to become an auto tech with nascar as my speciality) and am up for a $10,000 scholarship. I am currently working 2 jobs to support my kids so this would be an amazing thing to do. School is helping to set me up with a part time job, I just need to find a financial means of making this happen. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks! I am trying to move from Michigan to North Carolina by Feb.
Our family has made leaps and bounds since my last posting. I am so happy for that fact. My husband has just recently been offered a promotion at his job and this has forced us to face the reality that we will have to relocate our family. It has made us realize even more we have no savings whatsoever to even begin to move. Kyle starts work on the 9th of June in his new location. We have to move our family before the new school year starts and as long as we have to pay for two households while he is working in the new area we can't save anything for the move. If anyone knows of a way to help with this move, let me know. We would love to move as soon as possible. We just need to find a place in Eugene, Or. area and somehow afford to move the two hours from Bend, Or. to Eugene. If anyone knows of a house in Eugene that is good for a family of 5, let me know. We can't afford anything more than $1000 per month and need at lease 3 bedrooms and 2 bath. Thanks everyone.
I understand your situation bit you may want to swallow your pride and apply for public assistance as it you financially qualify. I don't know, but it seems worth a shot. Depending on what state you live you may qualify for the ESA (emergency shelter allowance). This is a one time allowance in which the Welfare Office issues a check to your landlord provided you show ability to pay future rent (you are currently working).
I personally considered applying for a personal grant. I think it is for $2500. It sure worth trying. Good luck to you.
After several years of hard work, I am finally graduating with my B.S. this May. I have also been accepted to graduate school, where I have been awarded a full tuition waiver, a paid graduate assistantship, and health insurance. Getting an advanced degree is the only way I can ensure that I will be able to support my children. But, I need help with the expenses of moving 1,000+ miles away. I would appreciate help with truck rental, gas, security deposit on an apartment, etc. I plan to move at the end of June. Please help my family become financially self-sufficient through my graduate education. This is a dream come true for me to be able to attend graduate school.
First of all, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read and consider my needs.
I am a teacher who is trying to re-enter the work field due to a past illness. I am a single mom with an 8 year old daughter who is dependent upon me as well for her needs. I currently live in a small town where there is little opportunity for employment. I am substitute teaching, however, the days that I am called to work are few.
I have a couple of bills (total = $1800)that are delinquent and need taken care of. As well as, I am desperately trying to relocate to a bigger city suburb where there is much more opportunity for teaching - both substituting and permanent positions. The total I would need to relocate is $2400 to move and cover rent/deposits. I am positive that I can work there once I get there (many internet ads and job postings)... but I need help getting there.
Please... any help that you could give to my daughter and I would be GREATLY appreciated!
I am in need of financial assistance to secure a home for my family. I need down payment and relocation assistance. I have a job waiting for me in Nevada with much higher income potential than I have here in michigan. My home is in foreclosure, and this is hurting my ability to obtain financing through traditional methods.
I am a single mother of two boys-ages 3 and 4. I am currently working as a cena in a nursing home. My wages do not allow me to pay my rent of $585, and keep the lights on too. My fiance lost his job do to shortage of work, and we are behind in our rent. Since we have been such good renters for two years, our landlord has been patient with us up until this point. We just got custody of my fiance's 10 year old daughter in January of this year because her mother is a meth addict. We have no where to go if we are evicted, and we are so ashamed and disgusted that we cannot even provide for our own children. I want to go to school to become an LPN but cannot afford to go part-time at work to attend classes. My fiance has been looking for work every day that I don't work, but it seems that there is nobody hiring for a certified diesel mechanic. And just today the brakes went out on our car. We work so hard, and it seems like as soon as we take one step forward, we fall two steps back. If we had some financial help to pay off some of our past debts, and catch up on rent and other bills, it could buy us some time until my fiance can find a job. I can't do it all by myself. Where is the help out there?
